Fountaine comes from a long line of relatives in the arts. Cathy's grandmother, Marion Joyce, was a well known interior designer in the Cleveland area. She was noted for her work using rose and soft green colors. Marion later met and married Dwight P. Joyce, Cathy's grandfather, who was President and CEO of the Glidden Paint Company. With these origins nobody was suprised when Cathy, before age ten, began creating rooms out of showboxes complete with handmade cardboard furniture, working paper shades, window treatments, area rugs and more. A career in Interior Design today fulfills and utilizes Cathy's great love for color, beautiful design and artistic creativity. |
